May 2026: Reevaluate your priorities to foster greater balance in your life.

Last month’s theme asked me to release myself from the negative beliefs and thoughts which held me back. With these lessons learned, I am invited this month to examine my priorities to ensure my daily actions and behaviors are aligned with my greater goals.

In its upright position, a winged figure pours liquid from one cup into another, with a golden halo around their head. One foot is balanced on the rocks while the other foot in the water, indicating the need to stay both grounded and in flow. Transferring the liquid between the two cups is a metaphor for the alchemical process of life, as experiences and ideas are shared between people. To achieve harmonious relationships, we must be able to openly express ourselves and speak from the heart rather than the ego, and this requires adaptability and empathy. Given its reversal in my reading, this Major Arcana reflects a period of self-evaluation in which conflicts and tensions may arise. Sometimes growth can be painful or uncomfortable, but it’s a natural process of creating positive change.

Yesterday we returned from our holiday through London, Edinburgh, Berlin, and Amsterdam. I didn’t question whether my outfit was too feminine or not masculine enough, whether or not I should wear makeup, or generally how I wanted to present myself to the world that day. Visiting these cities reminded me of how much I enjoy a walkable city, integrated public transportation, and open-minded citizens. As a queer-trans-nonbinary person, I feel more comfortable to openly expressing myself in these cities without fear of violence, which in turn enables me to better explore the many facets of the human experience. This holiday was a breath of fresh air, and a reminder that I have within me everything I need to succeed. I was reminded that I am the writer of my story, to be kind and patient with myself and others, and that balance can be achieved by being more intentional with my actions and behaviors. It’s easy to become complacent and do things automatically and without thinking, but better habits can be formed by choosing what is right instead of what is easy.
